Environmental Review

To determine whether environmental review in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is necessary, major construction projects at UC Berkeley require review by Capital Strategies, and in particular our Physical and Environmental Planning team.

Depending on the level of anticipated impact, some projects require an Environmental Impact Report (EIR), including public review. However, CEQA does not require a full EIR for the majority of projects, and instead, a more limited environmental impact analysis is performed which may or may not require public review.
