Stephens Hall opened in 1923 and was designed in Collegiate Gothic style by architect John Galen Howard. The building's exterior is a priority for repair to preserve the architectural heritage of the campus and avoid future costly repairs due to avoidable weather damage.
Refurbishments will include removing layers of old paint, resealing, and repainting the building exterior. This project will also repair and replace the building's windows. Crews will install scaffolding and wrap the building before work begins. Stephens Hall will remain open and occupied throughout the refurbishment. Furniture along perimeter walls will be moved to create a 3-foot buffer in support of the project.
Construction will begin in January 2022 and is scheduled to be complete in fall 2022.
