Berkeley Haas is a gateway for global entrepreneurship and innovation, and a first-choice institution for aspiring entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs from around the globe. This project will renovate an existing UC Berkeley building at 2232 Piedmont Avenue into a dedicated physical space for entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship Hub will be a gathering space that includes conference rooms, lounges, mentorship offices, and storage for student start-ups.

The Entrepreneurship Hub will welcome faculty and students from across the campus – not only Berkeley Haas – and provide navigation through entrepreneurship resources campus-wide. The new hub will offer vital space for teams to exchange ideas, test concepts, and host club meetings, mentorship activities, hackathons, and other events.

Constructed in 1908, the building has two floors, an attic, and a basement level. This project will thoughtfully refurbish the existing rooms in the basement and first and second floors. The attic will remain as storage space. Accessibility upgrades will include new accessible bathrooms and a lift to connect circulation from the basement, up to the first and second floors.

The building exterior will be restored and will include hardscape improvements for accessibility. The landscaping will also be refreshed.

Renovations for the Entrepreneurship Hub will be funded by philanthropic donations. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2022, with completion in Fall Semester 2024.
