Commercial Film Shoots
The Real Estate team administers UC Berkeley's Campus Filming Program for commercial film shoots - movies, television, commercials, and still photography - which are conducted on the campus by outside companies.
UC Berkeley departments that have been contacted by production companies or location scouts should direct all inquiries to Barb Evans, contract administrator, at (510) 642-9942.
Each request to film will be considered on a case-by-case basis, carefully weighing the production company's location needs against UC Berkeley's ability to accommodate those requirements without disruption to the campus. The Real Estate team works closely with the facility or building manager for approval and coordination of all commercial filming activity. For all approved shoots, the Real Estate team serves as the primary liaison between campus departments and the production company.
The Real Estate team will prepare a filming license agreement and obtain a certificate of insurance from the production company. Location fees will be charged based on the type of filming activity involved, as well as the scope of the project. They will also determine if additional campus services are required from UCPD, Facilities Services, Parking and Transportation, and/or the campus fire marshal.
